South African Louis Oosthuizen put four runners-up finishes behind him to land his first European Tour title today.

And with victory in the Andalucian Open in Malaga comes a return trip to Augusta for The Masters in two weeks. The 27-year-old had to win to climb into the world's top 50.

With a closing three under par 67 Oosthuizen won by three from England's Richard Finch and Scot Peter Whiteford.

Second to Rhys Davies last week with a 23 under par total, he found 17 under was easily good enough round the par 70 Parador course.

Gareth Maybin, Michael Hoey and Simon Thornton were the highest placed Irish finishers, ending up on three under par and in a share of 36th place.

Paul McGinley, who started the week strongly, ended up on two under par. A damaging 74 on the Saturday had already put the Dubliner out of contention but he finished with an improved 70.

Darren Clarke was the only other Irishman under par, finishing on one under. Shane Lowry (+2), Peter Lawrie (+6) and Gary Murphy (+8) were the other Irish players in the field for the weekend.
