00:37: Well, that's all for tonight. Hope you enjoyed our description of a compelling day at Augusta. There was no 'Paddy Slam' for Harrington, but he and Rory McIlroy will offer us hope at Majors for years to come. Take care. Slán.

00:36: 2008 winner Trevor Immelmann presents Angel Cabrera with the famous green jacket.

00:22: Cabrera goes just past with his first effort, but taps in to land his second Major. A small band of his fans start singing Ole! Ole! Ole! The rest of the crowd is understandably muted. They were hoping for an American win.

00:21: Perry fails to get any check on his chip and he races past the cup. As a consequence he is first up to putt. He ends on the low side of the hole and Cabera has two putts to win the Masters.

00:15: Perry is first up. His caddie tells him to be aggressive. His iron shot drifts left of the green. Cabrera plays a fade and lands about ten feet from the hole. Advantage Cabrera.

00:11: Cabrera finds the tenth fairway but isn't as long as maybe he'd like. Perry lands close, just a few yards behind his playing partner.

00:08: Campbell lips out and his day is done. He makes a speedy exit, no doubt disgusted with his second shot.

00:07: Cabrera holds his nerve brilliantly and he's going to the tenth tee.

00:06: Campbell plays a lovely bunker shot and finishes four feet away. Cabrera is six feet away. They both need to make their respective putts to stay alive.

00:05: Perry had the perfect line with his chip and a couple more rolls would have seen it drop. He cleans his ball and taps it in for par.

00:04: Cabrera has been given a new lease of life, and he makes the most of it by giving himself a great chance of making par. Right now Campbell looks like the one most likely to drop off at this first play-off hole.

00:03: We're into Bank Holiday Monday this side of the Atlantic. Cabrera goes for broke but just ends up back out on the fairway. Perry pushes his shot right and is lucky to avoid the bunker. Campbell is not so lucky and he finds the sand that Perry just missed. It's awful, but it's captivating at the same time.

23:56: They're back at the 18th tee. Campbell hits an aggressive shot down the right. Cabrera slices his first shot into the trees and that could be that for the Argentinian. Perry finds the left of the fairway, just before the bunkers.

23:44: Perry's putt goes agonisingly close but slides just left and we're going to a play-off. Will Cabrera join them? He tips his in and all three men will come back for more.

23:42: Perry does as well as he could do to get some check on his chip and has a 15-footer to save par and win the Masters. Cabrera doesn't get close to sinking his but looks certain to make par. It's all down to Perry now, as Campbell keeps tabs on the situation.

23:38: Cabrera comes up short and fails to make the green. Wrong club selection you would think. Perry steps up to his second shot. His seven iron drifts left, and he must chip onto a down slope. A horrible outcome for him. Campbell better keep loose in the clubhouse.

23:35: Furyk pars the last to finish tied for tenth at seven under. Campbell makes no mistake with his putt and now must wait to see what the final pairing can do.

23:34: Campbell's birdie attempt slides by up on the final green. It'll be 12 under at best for him.

23:33: Cabrera flirts with the trees on the right of the 18th tee fairway but he ends up safely in the middle. Perry finds the bunker.

23:31: Perry and Cabrera make their putts to leave just one between them heading to the 18th tee. Classic stuff.

23:29: Perry leaves his par effort short and has a two-footer for bogey. Campbell hits a brilliant shot from the rough on the 18th to find the middle of the green.

23:26: Perry hits a terrible chip shot that sees his ball finish on the fringe at the front of the green. The nerves must be kicking in. What can Cabrera do? He measures it perfectly to leave himself a tap in.

23:24: Cabrera follows Perry through the 17th green. Campbell finds the rough off the 18th tee.

23:22: Campbell taps in at 17 to stay two off the lead. Perry hits through the green at the same hole. It's not over yet folks.

23:19: Katayama sinks a lovely birdie putt at the last hole to card a 68 and finish on ten under. You've got to love the Japanese man's style. His Stetson is class.

23:17: Campbell found the bunker at the 17th green. He plays a beauty from the sand to give himself a two-footer to save par.

23:15: The scoreboard says Katayama is still nine under after 17. He must have sunk that putt. Go on Shingo!!!

23:14: Cabrera sinks his putt to go level with Campbell on 12 under. Perry taps in to go two clear at 14 under.

23:13: Did I say a foot? Perry's putt is mere inches from the cup. Mea culpa.

23:09: Cabrera gets some help from the slope at the 16th green to give himself a chance of a birdie. Perry trumps that with an eight iron that looks like it might drop but finishes a foot from the hole. He walked straight after it. That could be the shot that wins this tournament.

23:06: Campbell misses a good birdie chance at 16. He makes par, but the initiative is now firmly with his old pal Perry. Back at 15 Cabrera birdies to move to 11 under.

23:04: Perry doesn't land his eagle putt at 15, but he taps in for birdie to take the overall lead at 13 under.

23:01: Katayama found the bunker to the eight of the 17th green. His bunker shot is long and leaves him with a very tough putt to save par.

22:57: Perry's approach to the 15th just carries the water. Cabrera is wayward at the 16th as he misses to the right of the green. The pressure is mounting

22:54: Chad Campbell's eagle effort slides just past the 15th hole. He taps in to go to 12 under.

22.46 Perry watches another birdie chance slip by on 14. He's hanging in there with Campbell & Cabrera the dangers.

22.45 John Merrick finished with a 66 - eight under. The best score of the day,

22.39 That double bogey on the 12th proved to be costly for Mickelson. He finishes with a 67 - nine under. Bogey Bogey finish for Tiger to lie on eight under. Sterling effort on the last day

22.35 Perry misses birdie effort on 13. Just can't quite close it out.

22.34 Tiger is in trouble at the par four last. He already has taken three shots. His fourth is not a bad effort. Needs to hole it to save par.

22.27 Chad Campbell's birdies 13 to move to 11 under.

22.25 Mickelson misses a short one for birdie and he stays 10 under. He needs Perry to mess up now.

22.24 Woods has a 'longish' putt on 17 to save par but it comes up short. He drops back to nine under. I think his challenge has now ended.

22.20 Steve Flesch finishes on eight under par. Perry gets his first birdie of the day on 12 to move two clear of the field on 12 under.

22.15 Campbell birdies 12 to move to 10 under. Just to tell that Padraig Harrington finished on level par.

22.06 Tiger is on the march with a birdie and he moves to 10 under - one behind. Between thwem Woods and Mickelson are 12 under for the day.

22.05 Mickelson's birdie effort at 16 had no legs, while Perry's similar effort on 11 hangs over the lip. 11 straight pars for Perry.

22.00 Woods's eagle effort just slips by. Take his birdie. Goes to nine under. Mickelson's goes a few feet past. His birdie effort is not gimme. He makes it and Leftie goes to 10 under - one behind. Exciting stuff.

21.57 Cabrera drops his second shot of the day to drop back to nine under.

21.55 Woods and Mickelson are playing inspired golf. There approaches to the 15th were just sublime.

21.50 Geoof Ogilvy has birdied five holes on his back nine. A bit late now Mr Ogilvy after I put a few quid on him.

21.40 Perry reaches the term on level par and remains at 11 under with Campbell and Cabrera a further shot back.

21.34 Mickelson responds with a birdie on 13 to go back to nine under. Tiger's effort is successful and thw World No 1 stands at eight under - three behind our leader Kenny Perry.

21.28 Kenny Perry watches another one slip by at eight. Will he rue those narrow margins at the end of play?

21.24 Graeme McDowell finishes his Masters and four under. He;s the leading Irishman, Should have taken the 7/1 at the start of the week on that happening.

21.22 Mickelson pays the price and it's a double on 12 pushing him down the leaderboard to eight under.

21.16 Furyk birdies eight to go back to nine under. John Merrick hits a run of birdies from 13 to 16 to move to eight under. The forgotten man puts himself in contention.

21.12 Costly mistake from Mickelson as his drive on 12 with a nine iron finds a watery grave. Will have to visit drop zone.

21.09 Campbell birdies eight and draws level with Perry.

21.07 Mickelson effort on nine just falls short. Perry misses opportunity to pull further clear. What odds on a play-off

21.03 Another eagle for Justin Rose to move to two under after 15.

20.47 Rory McIlroy finishes his first Masters on two under and his final round back nine was achieved in 31 shots. Well done Rory.

20.45 Perry saves par at the fifth, but Cabrera bogeys, and so the 48-year-old Perry is one clear at 12 under.

20.40 Both Woods and Mickelson had testy putts to save par at nine. Both sank them with the minimum of fuss.

20.38 Just Rose gets in on the act with an eagle of his own to move to level par at 13.

20.33 - Peter Allis reckons the final round could go down as the magical days in competitive golf. Time will tell - but your money would be on Mickelson at this stage. Furyk picks up a shot on five to go to eight under.

20.31 Mickelson has picked up six shots in his round to date, while Cabrera drops his first shot of the day on the fourth.

20.23 Fireworks galore. Eagle for Harrington and bordies for the Tiger and the rampaging Mickelson, who moves to 1o under - two behind.

20.14 Cabrera birdies three to take a one shot lead on 12 under.

20.06 Graeme McDowell has double bogeyed the 12th and he is now back at one inder.

20.05 Mickelson duly obliges. Chad Campbell picks up a shot at three to move to 10 Under.

20.02 Shot of the Championship - Mickelson's approach on the seventh lands a few feet from the hole. Has that to move to nine under.

19.55 Leftie is closing the gap. Mickelson makes birdie on six to move to eight under - three behind the leaders.

19.50 James McMahon is back. Perry and Cabrera have made par on their opening holes.

18.28 Paul Casey is also two under for the day, but overall scoring would seem to indicate that the closest anyone will strike at the leaders from is four or five back.

That's anyone normal by the way - no telling what Tiger will do!

18.23 The big movers on course are Ross Fisher and Aaron Baddeley. Baddeley has birdied two and three to be two under for the day after six holes and three under for the tournament; good enough for tied-19th at the moment.

Fisher has five birdies in his round, including the two last holes he has played (10 and 11) but a double on eight and a bogey on four mean he is three under for the day and one under for the tournament with seven holes left.

18.15 Pádraig Harrington is going along nicely at one under for the round through four holes (two under overall).

Looking at his stats, Harrington's driving distance is 278 metres - plenty long - but his fairways and greens stats - both hovering around 60% - are a good 10 percentrage points behind the leaders.

The Dubliner birdied the first and has pars on the next three - including a par five on the second, site of his nine yesterday.

Kenny Perry with 80% of Greens in Regulation - is the stat leader and most of the top 5 have at least 70% or better in the fairways and GIR categories.

18.12 A double-bogey from Rory McIlroy on the sixth continues his disappointing final round - he is now three over.

18.01 Brendan Cole takes over the blog for the next half an hour......

17.51 McDowell picks up a shot on three to go back to one under, while Aussie Aaron Baddeley, with birdies on two and three moves to three under. Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson are about to get heir rounds underway.

17.38 Kenny Perry is the favourite at 2/1 to claim the title, with Cabrera 9/4 and Furyk 5/1. Tiger is available at 20/1

17.30 2003 Open Champion picks up two shots to move to level, while McIlroy drops one at three

17.10 McIlroy begins with a par, while Bubba drops one at five.

16.54 Rory McIlroy has just begun his final round. Graeme McDowell is out in about 10 miniutes, with Padraig Harrington due on the opening tee five minutes after that.

16.52 Early move on the final day from Bubba Watson with birdies at one, two and four to move to two under.

Kenny Perry & Angel Cabrera share the lead on 11 under and will begin their final round at 19.35pm Irish time. Padraig Harrington's chance of victory went at the second hole on Saturday, but the Ballyboden was philosophical about things afterwards and he begins his final round on one under, the same mark as Graeme McDowell. Rory McIlroy is a further shot back.
