Two-time major winner John Daly has been suspended from the American PGA Tour for six months for repeatedly bringing unwelcome publicity to the tour.
Daly, who has long suffered with alcohol and gambling problems, spent a night in a North Carolina jail in October having been brought in by local law enforcers to 'sober up'.
Daly is likely to try to play more European Tour events in the New Year.
He played in Australia three times in November and December but missed the cut each time.
