Spain's Carl Suneson leads on six under par after a round of 70 going into tomorrow's final round of the St Omer Open.

England's Marcus Higley was one shot off the lead, with Australian Peter Fowler and Swede Mikael Lundberg two off the pace.

The challenge of early tournament leader David Higgins fell away as he stands eight strokes back on two over for the tournament.

Fellow Irishman Stephen Browne is further back on seven over par.

Higley shared the overnight lead with Suneson and Fowler and claimed a two-shot lead with three birdies in four holes from the sixth to reach the turn in 33.

But the 33-year-old from Yeovil then bogeyed the 10th, 12th and 13th and, after a birdie on the 14th, dropped another shot on the 16th for an inward half of 38.

That allowed Suneson to gain the upper hand with his second birdie of the day on the 11th, although a bogey on the 17th reduced his lead to a single stroke.

Argentina's Gustavo Rojas carded the lowest round of the day, his 67 moving him to one under par.
