Ireland's Keith Nolan lost ground on the leaders at the second round of the USPGA Qualifying Tournament in California.

Nolan, who started the round in joint 24th place, has slipped down to 42th place, after a round of 73 left him on one over-par.

The Bray man struggled throughout the day, hitting bogeys on the third and seventh holes, and just one birdie which came on the final hole.

Nolan is currently ten shots behind leader Rich Barcelo who sits on nine under after his round of 64, with Australia's Paul Gow one shot further back.

The top 30 players plus ties at the end of six rounds will win the lucrative PGA Tour cards.
