A fine final round five-under-par 67 propelled Rory McIlroy to a tie for seventh place in the individual section of the world amateur team championship in South Africa.
The other Irish scores were 73 for Gareth Shaw and 76 for Simon Ward.
Ireland finished tied ninth in the team standings.
The Netherlands took the title and one of their players, Wil Besseling, took the individual honours on 13-under, six better than McIlroy.
