County Down teenager Rory McIlroy won the prestigious European Amateur Championship in Italy today, earning himself a place in the British Open next year.
The 17-year-old from Holywood had a two shot advantage heading into the final round but he finished in style with a round of 68.
His 18-under-par score won by three shots from England's Stephen Lawton in second.
