The Booz Allen Classic, already into a fifth day, suffered yet another delay this morning.
Ben Curtis, seeking his first victory since the 2003 Open, was eight clear of Padraig Harrington when the final round in Potomac was suspended on Sunday night.
They had seven and five holes to complete respectively and the plan was for play to resume at 8am today. But that was put back for at least two hours because of conditions.
That in turn meant the American qualifying tournament for the Open at nearby Congressional was reduced from 36 to 18 holes and was in danger of spilling into Tuesday.
