Nine of the world's top 10 golfers - all bar Tiger Woods - are in the field for this week's Wachovia Championship at Quail Hollow in North Carolina.
For sixth-ranked Sergio Garcia, the event brings back mixed memories.
Twelve months ago the 26-year-old Spanish star shot an opening 66 to lead by two, kept that advantage with a second-round 71 and then stretched it to six by adding a 67.
But the final day was a different tale. While he managed only a 72, Vijay Singh and Jim Furyk produced 66s - and when the three of them went in a play-off Garcia was eliminated at the first hole, and Singh went on to win at the fourth.
Poor last rounds have sadly become a common occurrence for Garcia this season. He has played seven tournaments in the States so far and has yet to break par on the final day.
Most disappointing of all was a closing 78 at the Players Championship in March. He had been just one behind eventual winner Stephen Ames with 18 holes to play.
The Masters was another let-down. He made the cut but then shot 79-73 at the weekend - and of those who played all four rounds, only Ben Crenshaw finished beneath him.
In the absence of Woods, Augusta winner Phil Mickelson starts favourite - although he needs to play the short 17th considerably better than he managed last year to have a chance.
Mickelson had three double bogeys and a bogey - four pars would have put him in the play-off.
Luke Donald and David Howell are in action for the first time since the Masters, where they came 42nd and 19th respectively.
Lee Westwood, Greg Owen, Brian Davis, Justin Rose and Graeme McDowell also play this week.
