Rory McIlroy is through to the semi-finals of the Irish Close Championship at Westport after a one-hole win over Co Sligo's Sean McTernan in an epic match this afternoon.
The 16-year-old from Hollywood, Co Down, will face fellow Ulsterman Connor Doran of Banbridge, who beat Michael Horan of Birr by 5 & 3.
The other semi-final will see Portmarnock's Aengus McAllister square up to Galway's Eddie McCormack.
