Retief Goosen, who will be seeking a third successive tournament victory at the Open this week, has been named the European tour's Golfer of the Month for June.
The choice was not a surprise after the South African captured his second major title at the US Open, denying Masters champion Phil Mickelson the chance to become the first golfer ever to win the Grand Slam of all four majors in one season.
