Retief Goosen returns to action in his first tournament since his United States Open triumph, when he turns out for the Smurfit European Open at the K club tomorrow, but he has warned fans that he might not be on top of his game.
Goosen took a well deserved break from golf following his triumph at Shinnecock Hills and after putting his feet up, the South African revealed that it may take him a while to get back into the swing of things.
"Golf has not been on my mind at all. The first time I unpacked the bag was yesterday and I probably should have taken another week off. I'm a bit tired and I don't think I'm quite ready," he said.
The South African will not be putting any pressure on himself at the K Club and revealed: "This is a new course I've never seen before and I'll take it easy and have a nice walk around."
"It's been a manic time - the first time I could really relax was Saturday at Wimbledon, then on Sunday there was a barbecue at Ernie's house," he added.
