22-year-old Mark Shanahan from West Waterford shot a three under 70 to take the clubhouse lead by two strokes at the Irish Close championship at Donegal Golf Club. East of Ireland champion Mark Campbell is just two off the pace after a one under par 72 alongside Walker Cup panellist Gareth Maybin and Shaun Doherty of Ballyliffin.
