Deirdre Smith won the Lancome Irish Ladies' Close Championship at The Island in Donabate yesterday.
County Louth golfer Smith beat Carlow's Tara Delaney in the final, a tense five hour duel which concluded on the second tie hole, when Smith holed from 15 feet for a winning par.
Earlier in the morning semi-finals, Smith had taken the scalp of pre-tournament favourite Clare Coughlan by 3 & 2.
Delaney had defeated Deirde Walsh by 5 & 4 in a match that included a hole in one for Delaney on the par four 13th.
