Henningson leads Co Sligo GC qualifiers

Oskar Henningson carded a breathtaking 65 to lead the qualifiers in some style on a magnificent figure of nine-under-par after the second round of qualifying at the Standard Life West of Ireland Championship at the County Sligo Golf Club in Rosses Point. The Swede holds a five shot advantage over Dunmurry's Darren Crowe, who carded a second successive round of 69 to climb to second.

First Round leader Rickard Karlberg shot 74 to tie for third place alongside Hollywood GC's Harry Diamond and Eoin O'Sullivan of The Grange GC.

Local hope Sean McTiernan of the Co Sligo GC went round in an excellent 67, while Walker Cup player Noel Fox of Portmarnock GC joins him on two-under after a 69. The top 64 golfers will qualify for Sunday's Match Play, with the cut likely to be seven-over par.
