Despite a course record 66 by Gary Murphy, it's defending champion Paul McGinley who leads at the halfway stage.
McGinley carded a second round 68 to be five-under for the tournament and leads Murphy by one stroke. McGinley, who opened with a 71, had six birdies second time out with just two dropped shots.
He lowered putts of between 25 and three feet while his pitch for an eagle at the long 12th hole rimmed out. Murphy made seven birdies in his record round of 66 with just one dropped shot on his card.
First round leader David Higgins handed in a one-over-par second time out and shares three-under with Michael Hoey who was round in 70 shots. The only other players under-par after 36 holes are John Dwyer and Brendan McGovern who are at one-under 143.
