Frenchman Sebastien Delagrange was disqualified for a scorecard error today at the Nissan Irish Open at Portmarnock. Delagrange, 226th on the Order or Merit and needing every penny he can muster to earn a place on next season's circuit, handed in a one over par 73 in yesterday's first round.
But on his return to the course this morning - he was due to tee off first at 8.20am - he reported that he had signed for a birdie four on the 16th when he had actually taken a par five.
The mistake comes only days after Mark Roe and Jesper Parnevik were kicked out of The Open for forgetting to exchange cards.
