Murphy leads Irish qualifying challenge

Gary Murphy continues to lead the Irish challenge at the European Tour Qualifying School after the third round at Emporda and Pals in Spain. Philip Archer leads the school after shooting a third round of 68 for 17 under par, one ahead of Spain's Eduardo de la Riva.

Murphy is joint fifth, after a third round 71 which leaves him on 13 under. Damien McGrane also fired a 71 and is on ten under. Gary Cullen had a 74 for six under.

A further shot back on 5 under are Michael Hoey after a 68, and Philip Walton who shot 71. Stephen Browne had a disappointing 77 for level par, while Daniel Sugrue is back on five over.
