Colin Montgomerie fired a 67 to move within two shot of the lead at the million dollar TCL Classic in Dongguan, China today, while Ireland’s Paul McGinley the man who holed the winning putt in the Ryder Cup, is now eight shots off the pace after a 71.
Thailand’s Thongchai Jaidee carded a 68 to hold off a determined challenge from Montgomerie to maintain a two-shot lead after the third round.
The round of the day came from Chinese number two Liang Wen-chong, who shot a course record 65 - including a hole-in-one - in blustery, overcast conditions to move to seven under par for the tournament, one behind Korean Ted Oh in third.
