Euro desire more intense says Bjorn

Danish golfer Thomas Bjorn insists Europe has an advantage over the United States in this weekend's Ryder Cup tournament because their desire to win at The Belfry is greater. Sam Torrance's men are desperate to win back the trophy they lost three years ago but Bjorn believes the event has always been more important to the Europeans.

"It seems like we rate this a bit higher than some of the Americans do and that's an important thing for us. We put a lot of effort into the Ryder Cup as players and we want this," explained Bjorn. "The history of the Ryder Cup shows the better we do in this, the better the European Tour does, and we know we have a lot of responsibility on our shoulders to make the European Tour grow. We want to win this trophy because it's the most important thing for us. This is what it's all about. This is where you want to be and this is where golf careers are made and this is definitely what my golf career is all about," he added.

However, Davis Love III does not agree with this perception. "I think we saw when we got so far behind at Brookline how bad we wanted it," said Love. "Nobody wants to win more than our team. As far as the Ryder Cup goes, I think both teams have equal passion."
