Colin Montgomerie took a share of the lead at the French Open lead at Le National today. The Scot's five-under-par 67 left him in a three-way tie with Swede Marten Olander, who equalled the tour's record eight consecutive birdies, and Frenchman Jean-Francois Remesy, who birdied two of the last three holes to give himself a chance for a second European Tour title.
Best of the Irish was Des Smyth who carded a one under 71 while Philip Walton carded a six over 78 and Ronan Rafferty shot a five over 77.
