Garcia in command in Gran Canaria

Spain's Sergio Garcia has taken firm command of the Canarias Open de Espana ahead of tomorrow's final round. Garcia carded a third round 67 and is now on 14 under par for the tournament, five shots ahead of his nearest challenger, Italian Emanuele Canonica.

Greg Owen is in third place on eight under par, alongside the man being dubbed 'the new Garcia'. Rafael Cabrera, a 17-year-old amateur, put in a dazzling display to match Garcia's round of 67 and would have done even better if he hadn't dropped shots at the final two holes.

Sweden's Carl Pettersson is in fifth place on seven under par, one ahead of a group of eight players including South Africans Ian Hutchings and Des Terblanche and English trio Mark Roe, Stuart Little and Sam Walker.
