Ireland's Michael Hoey, the leading amateur at the US Masters, has turned professional. Although Hoey missed the three-over-par cut at the weekend by just one stroke, he has already experienced some success in professional tournaments.
Earlier this season he finished 12th in the Dubai Desert Classic and last year went one better with 11th place in the Scottish Open at Loch Lomond.
