Chris DiMarco's love affair with the Phoenix Open continued on Sunday when he claimed his third successive title with a one shot win over Kenny Perry and Kaname Yokoo at Scottsdale, Arizona. DiMarco carded a two-under-par 69 to finish with a four-round total of 17-under 267, one clear of fellow American Perry and Japan's Yokoo.
The 33-year-old recovered from an awful stretch early in the back nine where he gave back four shots - and the lead - in three holes. He began the day one shot behind Duffy Waldorf, who closed with a two-over 73 and finished at 14-under 270, three strokes off the pace.
Perry has played in the final group three times this year but has yet to win, finishing third at the Mercedes Championships and sixth at the Bob Hope Classic. Yokoo closed with a 64 for the best finish of his brief PGA Tour career.
