Scott Verplank and Kenny Perry share the lead after the third round of the Mercedes Championships in Hawaii on Sunday. Verplank carded a three-under-par 70 and Perry finished with a 71 as the pair ended the day at 13 under par on 206.
Chris DiMarco matched the day's low round with a 68 and is tied for third place with second-round leader David Toms on 207. Mark Calcavecchia is alone in fifth spot at 10 under on 209, with Sergio Garcia and David Duval a further shot back. Spain's Garcia equalled DiMarco's round.
World number one Tiger Woods - two days ahead of his 26th birthday - fell out of contention after a disastrous 74 which left him in 16th place.
