Retief Goosen could possibly clinch this year's European Order of Merit title in Scotland this weekend as he lines out in the Dunhill Links Championship celebrity pro-am. Goosen is currently £440,000 clear of Irishman Darren Clarke at the top of the money list and with a massive £560,000 up for grabs on Sunday for the winner of this event, the new European number one could be determined this weekend.
However, for many of the spectators travelling to the Dunhill Links Championship, the main attraction will be star spotting with the likes of American actors Michael Douglas and Samuel L Jackson partnering Darren Clarke and Lee Westwood respectively. The mixed pairings of pros and celebrities will start at Carnoustie tomorrow, and then play switches to the new Kingsbarns course on Friday with the Old Course at St Andrews hosting the final two rounds.
Other celebrities taking part include former Wimbledon champion Boris Becker, British actor Hugh Grant, former cricketer Ian Botham, Sir Steven Redgrave, Sir Bobby Charlton, Bon Jovi drummer Tico Torres and former Olympic skiing champion Franz Klammer.
