Ireland's Padraig Harrington has stormed to the top of the leaderboard at the halfway stage at the Buick Open in Michigan. The Dubliner hit his second consecutive 67 to surge to ten under par, a position he shares with Craig Perks and Ian Leggatt who recorded 68s this afternoon. Harrington began the day with a birdie on the first, and parred the following seven holes before bogeying the par three ninth to remain on five under at the turn.
However, a stunning display on the back nine propelled Harrington in contention, recording five birdies to join Perks and Leggatt on ten under at the Warwick Hills Golf and Country Club.
World number two, Phil Mickelson, is a shot further adrift in a group of seven on four under, which includes Jim Furyk and Jeff Maggert.
