Overnight leader Paul McGinley remains in touch with the leaders of the Moroccan Open in Rabat despite recording a disappointing two-over-par 75. McGinley began the day with a one shot advantage after an inspired round of 67 yesterday, but failed to match it today as he struggled to get to grips with the swirling afternoon breeze.
Philip Walton joins McGinley and six others on four-under in fifth, behind England's Ian Poulter who fired a superb second round 67 for an eight under par total of 138, two shots ahead of American Craig Hainline, who carded a 72.
Sweden's Robert Karlsson and France's Thomas Levet were another stroke adrift with McGinley and co a further point behind. Paddy Gribben and Gary Murphy both missed the cut after carding rounds of 78.
