Duffy Waldorf fired a final-round 10-under-par 62 to edge out long-time leader Steve Flesch at the National Car Rental classic in Florida. The 38-year-old from Los Angeles rattled off six birdies on his first seven holes, and then added another four after the turn to finish the Walt Disney World Resort tournament on 26 under, one shot ahead of Flesch.
It was Waldorf's fourth victory on the PGA Tour, having opened his account in 1995 and secured two more titles last year. Flesch had gone into the final day with a two-shot advantage over Tiger Woods at the head of the leaderboard, but a 69 was not enough to give him his first win on the Tour.
Woods, chasing his 10th title of the year, also closed with a 69 to take third place on 23 under. Fred Funk and Scott Verplank shared fourth spot on 22 under after both carded 65s on day four. (PA)
