Tiger Woods and Sergio Garcia will meet in an 18-hole, made-for-television match-play showdown at the Bighorn Golf Club in California on the 28th August. From the same people who brought you last year's Showdown at Sherwood between Woods and David Duval will bring you the Battle at Bighorn between the two stars who duelled at the USPGA Championship last August.

The winner will be paid around £700,00 while the loser takes away just over £250,000. Each player will donate a portion of their winnings to charity to a combined total of just under £350,000. Last August, Woods defeated Duval 2 and 1 in the first live United States network telecast of golf in prime time. It's rating of 6.9 was second only to the final round of the Masters in terms of US viewer's.
