Four Allianz Football League games fixed for this afternoon have been called off as adverse weather impacts the league schedules.

The Division 2 meeting of Galway and Offaly, the Division 3 clash between Westmeath and Longford and the Sligo-Cavan Division 4 game have all been postponed this morning.

The Salthill meeting of Galway and Offaly was initially declared to be going ahead but Galway GAA then announced that the match is off due to an upgraded weather alert.

"Due to the upgraded Weather alert in the last few minutes to status orange, in the interest of health and safety the game is now called off," Galway GAA said in a statement.

The Division 3 match-up between Westmeath and Longford has also fallen by the wayside, the game called off due to an unplayable pitch.

The postponement of the Sligo-Cavan game was announced early this morning as heavy overnight rain took its toll on the Markievicz Park surface. Sligo GAA tweeted that a pitch inspection this morning had deemed the surface unplayable. A new date for the fixture has yet to announced.

The Division 4 meeting of Wexford and Tipperary was also set to go ahead but a deluge of rain in the hour before throw-in led to the game being postponed just as it was originally due to begin.

In their statement, the GAA said the CCCC would confirm re-fixture details next week

In total, five of the weekend's Allianz Football League games to fall victim to the weather, with the Division 3 game between Fermanagh and Laois postponed on Saturday.

The remaining seven games fixed for Sunday are scheduled to go ahead, with Leitrim-London already having been moved from Carrick-on-Shannon to the Connacht GAA Centre of Excellence.

The Division 3 match between Limerick and Louth has been subject to a late change of venue, being moved from the TUS Gaelic Grounds to UL North Campus and will now throw in at the later time of 2.15pm.
