Leitrim's Áine Tighe rounded out an impressive January by being named in the AFLW Team of the Week.
Tighe tasted victory on her long-awaited AFLW debut, helping Fremantle Dockers to victory over West Coast Eagles and followed that up with a series of fine displays as her side went on a winning run in the month of January.
The 29-year-old was recognised for her performance in Fremantle's 31-point victory over Collingwood in which she produced a defensive masterclass, producing 12 intrecepts as she ran the show at the back.
North Melbourne's Aileen Gilroy also made the selection as an inter-change player.
Tighe's Fremantle career had been ravaged by knee injuries over the past two seasons, but the club showed just how highly they rate her by giving her a new deal last June.
She has rewarded the club's faith in her with four fine performances in January, before she was rested for Fremantle's midweek victory over Western Bulldogs.
A fresh face in the ruck but a lot of familiar faces around the ground 🤩
