Wexford defender Brian Malone has called time on his 16-year involvement with the county's senior football squad.
The Shelmailiers clubman has opted not to be part of Model set-up for the 2022 campaign, which will see Shane Roche's side operate in Division 4 of the Allianz Football League.
Malone, however, was involved on days when Wexford operated at a higher level and two years on from his inter-county debut played in an All-Ireland semi-final against Tyrone, this after reaching a Leinster final.
In total, Malone notched up 174 competitive games for Wexford, the last of those coming in the provincial championship defeat to Dublin last July. Before Christmas, the 35-year-old lined out for Shelmaliers in their defeat to Naas after extra-time in the Leinster club semi-final.
Success on the hurling field came courtesy of two county title wins for his club in 2014 and 2020.
