Stephen Coen will captain the Mayo senior footballers for the upcoming season.
The Hollymount-Carramore clubman, who takes over from Aidan O'Shea, has been part of the Green and Red set-up since 2015, and has played in four All-Ireland finals.
Vice-captains for the season will be Patrick Durcan & Tommy Conroy.
Coen previously was skipper when Mayo landed All-Ireland minor and U-21 titles in 2013 and '16 respectively.
James Horan's side return to action with a game against Galway in the FBD Insurance League on Friday next.
The county's Allianz League Division campaign begins with a clash against Donegal on Sunday, 30 January. Because of development work at Elverys MacHale Park, that game has been switched to Markievicz Park in Sligo. Mayo's other 'home' games will also involve a tour of Connacht, with Armagh visiting Hyde Park on 27 February and Kildare coming to Avant Money Páirc Seán Mac Diarmada on 27 March.
