The first game of Jack O'Connor's third stint as Kerry manager will begin under lights in Tralee on the first Wednesday of January, when Limerick come to Austin Stack Park for the McGrath Cup.

The Munster Council unveiled its fixture list for January 2022, with the McGrath Cup and Co-op Superstores Munster Hurling Cup games running over the month.

The McGrath Cup officially commences with the meeting of Waterford and Clare on 2 January at 2pm in Fraher Field. The McGrath Cup is split into two groups of three, with Cork joining Clare and Waterford in Group 2, while Kerry, Limerick and Tipperary make up Group 2. The final takes place on 15 January.

The fixture list for Munster hurling's pre-season competition was released two weeks ago, with Limerick playing with the winners of Tipperary/Kerry, while Clare play Waterford in the other semi-final. Cork have opted not to take part.
