Clare are set to offer Brian Lohan another three years at the helm of the county's senior hurling team.

Lohan steered the Banner to an All-Ireland SHC quarter-final in 2020 but this year's summer charge ended in the qualifiers to Cork after an epic battle.

He was ratified as manager in the autumn of 2019, succeeding Donol Moloney and Gerry O'Connor.

The four-time All-Star was named Hurler of the Year following Clare's breakthrough All-Ireland in 1995. He also managed UL to Fitzgibbon Cup glory in 2015.

On Monday night, Clare GAA tweeted: "At a meeting of the Clare County Board officers it was unanimously agreed that Brian Lohan be offered a new three-year term as Senior Hurling manager.

"This recommendation has to be approved by a full meeting of Clare County Board. Brian Lohan is aware of this recommendation."
