Gaelic Players Association CEO Tom Parsons has said their body will continue to stress the importance of player welfare ahead of the re-arranged All-Ireland Football Championship semi-final.
Tyrone have raised the possibility of being given more time for their players to recover from the Covid-19 outbreak within the camp ahead of the postponed clash with Kerry.
The game has been pushed back a week to 21 August but with a large number of players in isolation or recovering, another week would give better preparation time for the last-four encounter.
As it stands, Tyrone are considering pulling out of the competition.
In a statement issued this morning, Parsons said the GPA are in talks with a number of stakeholders around the issues.
He said: "The Gaelic Players Association have been, and continue to be, in ongoing contact with the Tyrone squad through their GPA rep since the issues surrounding positive Covid-19 cases arose.
"Their health and wellbeing is our primary concern. We are also in contact with the Tyrone management team and share their player welfare concerns."
The GPA want "health and well-being" to be the priority over the semi-final fixture and have offered the Tyrone players access to health screening.
They added: "It's important to note that players will always feel a deep sense of responsibility to play the game, represent their county and supporters, and will no doubt want to fulfil the All-Ireland semi-final fixture.
"However, it is imperative that their health and well-being is the priority in this situation.
"We will consult closely with the GAA to ensure adequate time is allowed to assess the welfare of players before a decision can be made by Tyrone.
"Above all we ask for respect to be shown to the amateur status of the players and that we are all mindful of the four teams who remain in the competition.
"Players will always want to play, but their welfare must come first in any decision made."
