All-Ireland champions Cork blitzed Tipperary in the second half of this Eirgrid Munster U20 HC semi-final at Semple Stadium to set up a final clash with Limerick.
With seven of the squad that brought them All-Ireland honours a week previously, Cork looked in big trouble at half-time as they trailed by 0-10 to 1-13. In a free-flowing opening 30 minutes Tipp were the masters.
A Max Hackett goal from a Sean Hayes pass in the sixth minute put them 1-02 to 0-04 ahead, with Devon Ryan very accurate from play and frees.
The Premier led 1-07 to 0-06 at the water break.
Ryan added a further four points in the second quarter as the visitors surged to a 1-13 to 0-10 interval lead.
Cork were a transformed side after half time. With Padraig Power and Robbie Cotter leading the way they outscored Tipp five points to one in seven minutes and then hit the opposition with goals by Daniel Hogan and Robbie Cotter in the 39th and 45th minutes for a lead of 2-15 to 0-14 at the second water break.
Tipp tried bravely to turn the tide but a third Cork goal from sub Luke Horgan in the 57th minute ensured the Rebels' place in the final despite a late consolation goal for Tipp by Kyle Shelly in injury time.
Cork’s second half performance was hugely impressive with inspiring performances from Eoin Downey, Padraig Power, Kieran Joyce, Robbie Cotter and Brian Hayes.
Max Hackett, Kevin Maher, Devon Ryan and Fintan Purcell were top performers for a disappointing Tipp side.
