Defending Allianz League champions Kerry are set to face Tyrone in the semi-finals of this year's competition, but the men from the Kingdom won't be playing in the final regardless.
It's because they are in championship action two weeks after their clash with the Red Hand, with Clare the visitors to Killarney in the Munster SFC quarter final.
The other last-four clash will see Dublin take on Donegal, with a coin toss due to decide the home team.
The only way there can be a Division 1 final is if the Dubs and the Tír Chonaill men win their semis - other than that there will be joint champions.
Even though we knew this was a distinct possibility from the outset does this devalue the GAAs second most important competition?

At the other end of the top flight, Armagh and Roscommon will meet, with the home team also yet to be decided.
But Monaghan, who lost home advantage in the regular league to their breach of the collective training ban earlier in the year, are set to host Galway as things stand.
The losers of those two matches will be relegated to Division 2 for next year.
Elsewhere, there can't be a Division 2 final with Mayo and Clare set to meet in the semi-finals.
Both are in championship action on the weekend of the 26/27 June. Meath and Kildare are set to meet in the other last four clash in the second tier.
Similarly in Division 3, a victory for Offaly or Limerick - against Fermanagh and Derry respectively - will mean no decider in that tier.
There will be no final in Division 4 with Carlow and Louth playing in the semis.
