Wexford have confirmed that two members of the county's senior hurling panel have tested positive for Covid-19 but they do not believe Sunday's Allianz Hurling League clash with Kilkenny is under threat.

Davy Fitzgerald's men enjoyed a dramatic win over Clare in Ennis at the weekend and have two victories from two in Group B of Division 1.

They are scheduled to face the Cats at Nowlan Park this Sunday.

Speaking to the Morning Mix programme on South East Radio, Model County chairman Micheál Martin said: "We know at the moment that there are two players that have tested positive.

"At the moment I wouldn’t like to comment more for privacy of information but I don’t think we’re overly concerned beyond that at this present time."

When asked if he thought the game against Kilkenny would be played, Martin replied: "Absolutely, we'd imagine the game would go ahead. Obviously we have to work through all the procedures."
