Former Antrim dual star CJ McGourty has been named in the Tyrone starting side for Sunday's Allianz Hurling League Division 3A clash with Monaghan.

McGourty, who last played with the Saffron footballers in 2017, has been named at centre half-forward by Red Hand boss Michael McShane.

McGourty, who has won provincial and All-Ireland Club titles with Belfast outfit St Gall's, is a coach with the Ardboe club in Tyrone and it is understood that his inter-county transfer was approved in January.

The match at Healy Park will be McShane's first in charge of Tyrone since being named as Mattie Lennon’s successor.

McShane, who is also an Antrim native, is also the manager of the Slaughtneil hurlers and has guided them to three Ulster titles.
