After 14 seasons in the Clare colours, Gary Brennan has called time on his inter-county footballing career.

An accomplished midfielder, Brennan earned an All-Star nomination in 2016, a year where the Banner reached an All-Ireland quarter-final. He also was a member of the Ireland International Rules side that faced Australia in both 2015 and 2017.

In 2020, Brennan indicated he would not be part of the Clare squad as he had planned to travel.

Covid-19 restrictions saw those plans change and when the league resumed in October, he rejoined the panel and helped Colm Collins' outfit retain their Division 2 status.

While his days representing Clare are over, Brennan does intend to keep playing at club level for Ballyea (hurling) and Clonegad (football).
