Kevin McCrystal has returned for a second term as manager of the Tyrone senior women's side having previously taken charge of the team in the noughties.

The Carrickmore man replaces Gerry Moane who guided Tyrone to an All-Ireland intermediate title in 2018 during his five years in charge.

Mc Crystal and his backroom team have been given a three-year term and the new manager confirmed that he is keen to get the ball rolling straight away - his last spell in charge lasted two years from 2002-03.

"I am delighted to be appointed and there are great foundations there already," said Mc Crystal.

"I just want to take Tyrone to the next level and I would hope to talk to the girls as soon as possible with plans in place to get started as soon as we are given the green light."

Tyrone are set to compete in a reduced league programme as early as February with an early Ulster campaign also a possibility.
