Cork goalkeeper Anthony Nash has announced his retirement from inter-county hurling.

The 36-year-old Kanturk man made his senior debut back against Waterford in 2007, stepping in for the suspended Donal Óg Cusack, but he had to bide his time before really nailing down the jersey from 2013 on.

He won four Munster titles and two All-Stars, with his final game coming against Tipperary in this year's All-Ireland SHC round 2 qualifier, which the Rebels lost 2-18 to 1-17.

"Just like to take this opportunity to announce my retirement from inter-county hurling," Nash tweeted on Sunday afternoon.

"I'd like to thank all my family, friends and teammates who supported me throughout my career. It was a dream to represent Cork. I’d like to wish Cork and my friends the best. Now for golf."
