Tipperary's Fergal Horgan has been confirmed as the referee for this year's All-Ireland SHC final between Limerick and Waterford.

It's Horgan's second senior decider to officiate, having previously refereed the 2017 final between Galway and Waterford. The Knockavilla-Donaskeigh Kickhams clubman was also the man in the middle for All-Ireland minor final in 2014, and the All Ireland senior club deciders of 2017 and 2019.

In this year's championship, Horgan took charge of the Munster quarter-final involving Clare and Limerick, the Leinster final between Kilkenny and Galway and last weekend's semi-final where the Déise defeated the Cats.

His umpires on the day will be John Ryan (Cashel King Cormacs), Alan Horgan, Mick Butler, and Seán Bradshaw (All Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams).

Cork's Colm Lyons will be the standby referee. The other linesman is Paud O’Dwyer (Carlow) and the sideline official will be Sean Cleere (Kilkenny).

Liam Gordon from the Killimor club in Galway will ref the Joe McDonagh Cup final, which precedes the senior game on Sunday, 13 December.
