Oisin McConville and Pat Spillane join Mikey Stafford and Rory O'Neill to highlight the importance of finishing the football league for some counties and why sport is our escape valve in these challenging times.

With Covid-19 numbers on the rise, Pat, while initially not agreeing with the GAA's decision to suspend club activity, now feels it's the right course of action as people "had taken their eye of the ball".

However, he added that bodies like the GAA have it in them to act responsibly and organise their affairs successfully.

As to the prospect of the league being the sacrificial lamb in the weeks ahead, Oisin, after seeking the opinion of some inter-county managers said: "For a lot of teams, the championship is second to the league in terms of their realistic aspirations of what they are going to achieve."
