FOOTBALL

Dublin champions Ballyboden St Enda's have again reached the county final after a 2-11 to 1-11 win over near neighbours and great rivals St Jude's.

Jude's battled back to parity with less than 10 minutes to play, but the champions held on despite the late exchange of goals.

In Kerry, Mid Kerry pipped Dr Crokes by a point after a thrilling extra-time semi-final.

Gavan O'Grady's goal in the 80th minute and then a point from Jack O'Connor clinched a 3-20 to 3-19 triumph for Mid Kerry, who will meet fellow divisional side and reigning champions East Kerry in the final in two weeks.

Paddy McBrearty scored 0-06 (4f) as Kilcar saw off Gaoth Dobhair 0-14 to 1-6 in horrendous conditions in the Donegal SFC semi-final.

Gaoth Dobhair, who famously went to a second replay before losing to Naomh Conaill last year, were level on 0-06 apiece, but Kilcar were the stronger team after the break.

All-Ireland champions Corofin are chasing their eighth Galway SFC in a row and moved one step closer to that with a 1-18 to 0-09 quarter-final win over Salthill-Knocknacarra in Salthill. County hurler Daithi Burke added the icing on the cake with a late goal.

Tuam Stars, who lead the honour roll with 25 titles to Corofin's 21 but last won in 1994, are also through to the semis. They beat Barna 0-17 to 0-16 after extra-time, normal time having ended with the sides deadlocked on 11 points apiece.

Last year's Clare SFC runners-up Kilmurry Ibrickane are back in the final after they beat Lissycasey by the bare margin, 1-18 to 3-11, in Ennis.

In Kildare, Raheens surprised 2018 winners Sarsfields to top their SFC group. Both sides advanced to the quarter-finals, along with Johnstownbridge and Moorefield.

Loughmore-Castleiney kept up their quest for a Tipperary championship double - already in the hurling decider, their senior footballers repeated the trick, beating Moyle Rovers 0-18 to 1-11 in the semi-final. They'll face Clonmel Commercials on 27 September.

Foxrock-Cabinteely

There were contrasting final fortunes for multiple winners Foxrock-Cabinteely in Dublin and Mourneabbey in Cork.

HURLING

Shane Stapleton scored 1-10 for Dicksboro

Ballyhale Shamrocks kept alive their hopes of three in a row in the Kilkenny Senior Hurling Championship with a 3-22 to 1-26 victory over James Stephens, but it took a controversial late free to see them over the line.

TJ Reid, who score 1-08 for Ballyhale, was able to drill over that late free to put his side in front and swing the momentum their way and although Eoin Guilfoyle cancelled it out for James Stephens, Ballyhale would not be denied and Colin Fennelly and Eoin Cody scored the decisive points.

Ballyhale will face 2017 champions Dicksboro in the final, following their 2-16 to 0-14 win over O'Loughlin Gaels at Nowlan Park.

Shane Stapleton scored 1-10, including two sideline cuts for the victors, with Aidan Nolan bagging the other goal. Eoin O'Shea and Mark Bergin (4f) top-scored with 0-04 each for the Gaels.

Doon and Na Piarsaigh will contest the Limerick final, a repeat of the 2018 decider.

Na Piarsaigh dethroned reigning champions Patrickswell on a 1-22 to 0-17 scoreline, scoring the last seven points of the game.

Jack Ryan hit two goals and Pat Ryan scored 0-07 as Doon got the better of Kilmallock by 2-20 to to 1-17 in the other semi-final.

In Cork, Erin's Own set up a semi-final against last year's runners up Glen Rovers by edging out Sarsfield 0-16 to 1-12 at the Pairc.

Clare county champions Sixmilebridge had to dig very deep to see off Éire Óg Ennis in a tightly fought semi-final, eventually prevailing by the narrowest of margins, 0-17 to 1-13. Four points down at the break, the Davy Fitzgerald/Tim Crowe managed team battled back in a thrilling finale.

Jack and Pat Ryan were the heroes for Doon, who beat Kilmallock 2-20 to 1-17 in the Limerick SHC semi-final. Jack contributed two goals, with Pat nothcing 0-07 from play.

In Offaly old rivals Birr and St Rynagh's will clash in the last four, with Kilcormac-Killoughey facing Belmont in the other semi-final.

Birr had a comfortable 3-19 to 0-11 win over Coolderry in the final round of pool games, St Rynagh's beat Shinrone, Kilcormac-Killoughey accounted for Seir Kieran, while Belmont beat Ballinamere

Ballyhaunis are Mayo county champions after a 1-15 to 1-12 win over Tooreen, Jason Coyne netting the all-important goal for the victors.
