East Kerry's David Clifford will miss the Kerry Senior Football Championship semi-final after his appeal against a red-card failed.

Clifford was shown a red card is the dying moments of East Kerry's narrow win over St Kierans in the Kerry quarter-final for an off the ball incident last week.

The two-time Kerry All Star appealed against the decision and the one game ban that came with it, but that appeal was rejected at an appeals hearing and the red card will stand.

East Kerry, who are chasing back-to-back Kerry SFC titles, will now have to face St Brendan's in the semi-final without one of their star players.
