Lucan Sarsfields produced a superb performance in the Dublin SHC quarter-final to topple Kilmacud Crokes 0-16 to 1-12 at Parnell Park.

Lucan held on valiantly to set up a showdown with Cuala in the semi-finals.

Kilmacud led by a point at half-time but Lucan, with the breeze behind him on the turnaround, burst out of the traps to open up a five-point lead. Ronan Hayes missed a penalty for Kilmacud but later rammed home a goal to make it a nervy finish for Sarsfields. However, they held on.

Earlier Cuala had too much power for St Brigid's as they eased through with a 1-26 to 2-14 victory.

Cuala, led by the excellent David Treacy, were 0-19 to 0-8 ahead at half-time and they never relinquished control.

Cian O'Sullivan did goal for Brigid's early in the second period but that was wiped out by a Diarmuid O'Floinn  effort. Ruairí Convery hit the net again for Brigid's but the result was never in serious doubt as Cuala stepped up their chase for a fifth county crown in six years.

Na Fianna and Ballyboden St Enda's will square off in the other semi.

In the Wexford SHC, Shelmaliers became the first-ever county champions of the Covid-19 era.

The black-and-amber defeated 2018 winners Naomh Éanna by 3-18 to 3-11 at Chadwicks Wexford Park on Sunday to capture the championship for the second time - bridging a gap to their 2014 breakthrough.

Passage just about held off Mount Sion in an enthralling collision at Walsh Park to progress to the Waterford SHC decider. They held on for a 0-26 to 1-21 win and will meet Ballygunner in next week's final.

Passage were 0-17 to 1-06 up at the break but Mount Sion had the win behind them on the turnaround and trimmed the lead to two points heading for the climax. In a frantic finale, Austin Gleeson had a goal attempt blocked and Passage survived.

In the Carlow SHC semi-finals Mount Leinster Rangers cruised past Naomh Eoin 1-22 to 0-11. They were seven points to the good at the break, 0-12 to 0-05, and pulled away easily thereafter, with Chris Nolan goalling 13 minutes into the second half.

Balinkillen await Mount Leinster Rangers. They squeezed past last year's champions Naomh Moling 1-20 to 1-19 in a brilliant match.
