An incredible finish at Kenny Park saw Sarsfields come from five down to book their place in the knockout stages of the Galway SHC.

Kevin Cooney blasted home a penalty with the last strike of the game to complete a remarkable turnaround, and see Castlegar exit the competition.

Elsewhere, Capptaggle sent Tommy Larkins out of the championship with a three-point victory.

That result, coupled with Loughrea's big win over Tynagh-Abbey/Duniry saw Larkins miss out on progress on goal difference.

Clare champions Sixmilebridge were able to keep Broadford at arm's length at Ennis.

Leading at half-time against a breeze, Tim Crowe's charges pushed on against last year's intermediate county champions.

They were joined by Ballyea, who finished well to overcome Kilmaley by six points.

A Morgan Garry goal had the 2018 champions two clear at the break, after Daire Keane had earlier hit a major for Kilmaley.

There was just a score between the clubs at the last water break, but three points on the resumption set Kevin Sheehan's on their way to the semis.

In Dublin, a purple patch of scoring around the break saw Na Fianna past Faughs and into the semi-finals.

The Mobhi Road men hit five of the six points scored around the turnaround, before Michael Murphy found the net to push the lead out to 9 points.

From there, Martin Quilty and Donal Burke three-pointers put a sheen on the scoreboard as Na Fianna reached a first county hurling semi-final in 31 years.

Ballyboden St Enda's followed them into the last-four with ten points to spare over St Vincent's.

Paul Ryan's steady free-taking had kept the scoreboard ticking over throughout for the southsiders, and the game was already over when he struck a penalty to the net inside the last ten minutes.

Murphy's goal gave Na Fianna breathing room

Ballygunner's push for seven Waterford titles continued in impressive fashion as they were far too strong for Lismore.

Dessie Hutchinson hit 2-8 from play, as they won by 18 points, with Mount Sion playing Passage in tomorrow's other semi-final.

Former Wexford goalkeeper Anthony Masterson led last year's beaten finalists Arklow Geraldines Ballymoney to the last four in Wicklow.

In a low-scoring affair against 2017 winners Rathnew, the south county club had more in the second-half, after the teams had gone in level at the break.

There was shock in the later game as defending champions St Patrick's were knocked out by Tinahely, in a game that went to extra-time.

Patrick O'Rourke's goal in the second-half of the added period proved to be a decisive score.

There was also a shock in Kerry, where Templenoe made their first match in the senior championship a memorable one with a one-point win over Dingle.

John Crowley's goal just after half-time spurred on the tiny parish club from just outside Kenmare.

Elsewhere in the Kingdom, St Brendan's, East Kerry, and Mid Kerry were winners.

Up the west coast, Castlebar Mitchels saw their Mayo campaign end in the group stages as they suffered a defeat to local rivals Westport, who top the group.

Breaffy advanced to the quarter-finals with them after the narrowest of victories against Charlestown. They needed a very late Matthew Lenehan goal to get over the line.

While defending champions Ballintubber topped Group 2 with a comfortable 1-16 to 0-5 win over Davitts.
